Naked Green Machine Smoothie Review…

So this week I tried to get on the smoothie craze by trying out a Naked Green Machine smoothie. Naked smoothies are quite expensive and are normally priced around £2.50-£3.00. Smoothies are a massive craze at the moment so I  thought I would jump on the bandwagon and give one a go. I think a lot of the time people drink a smoothie and assume they are now fit and healthy which really isn’t the case. Personally I’m not always a fan of smoothies as I find that sometimes they are a bit sickly and really really filling such as the innocent smoothies as they are really thick in consistency.

But this one actually tasted good! Sometimes smoothies can taste a bit dodgy especially if you make them yourself. This Naked Green Machine claims to contain 3 1/3 Apples, 1 Banana, 1/3 kiwi, 1/3 mango, 1 slice of Pineapple. Which seems like a lot off fruit to me! But the smoothie also contains spirulina, chlorella, spinach, blue green algae, ginger (Uhhh what?). Spinach and ginger cool ok, the rest I have no idea what they are but I am assuming they are good for you?! I thought algae was the stuff you clean off your fish tank not eat! You can see on the picture above that the health stats of the smoothie are all shown as green apart from sugar section which is red and states it contains 29 grams of sugar. Now that’s a lot of sugar, yes fruit does contain a lot of sugar so that’s not surprising considering all of the fruit jammed into it. But I think my dental nurse of a mother would have something to say to you if you drank these on a regular basis as that’s not a great amount for your teeth!

All in all it was ok. I don’t think I would hurry to buy another one straight away but if I fancied a smoothie I would probably select one of the Naked smoothies over an innocent smoothie one.

Thanks for taking a look.
