Exploring Ledbury…

So today I had the day off so went on a little adventure in the car seeing as though it was a lovely sunny autumnal day, and plus I haven’t done an Explore blog post in an actual age!. Where I am in England I am surrounded by lots of little towns and villages you normally just drive through but don’t actually visit. And plus they are all filled with so much history. I was just driving along today and kept seeing sign for Ledbury in Hereford and though ‘I’ve never been there so lets just go there’!! So that’s where I ended up.

Its a lovely little and quaint town, with a small selection of shops from little boutique shops to your usual hair salons and charity shops. I took a walk around the church and had a coffee in a hot chocolate in a tea room. I also took my camera and took some ok shots of the town I think I am slowly getting the hang of some of the settings…

The black and white tall building in the pictures is the Market House built in 1653 and used to be used as a grain stall for the town. I love old Tudor style buildings as in my home town you are surrounded by them! You would never find a builder today being able to make something as amazing as that!! Although Ledbury isn’t the biggest hub of activity it was nice to have a stroll around somewhere different.

Thanks fort taking a look.

  1. This made me chuckle – I used to live here!! For over 20 years (gets rather boring and lacking in opportunities when you get older if you want a job etc) and it’s changed a bit since I was there, though it retains it’s quiet appeal. Glad you enjoyed your Ledbury adventure! πŸ™‚

      1. Hahah it was! I need to go back soon to visit a family friend there, maybe in the next week or two. It reminded me to take a walk around the church and graveyard; I always used to go there when I was younger (that’s right, I wasn’t a ‘cool kid’!) πŸ™‚

  2. What a lovely idea to just stop and see what is around you.
I live in an English village and many houses go back far and you would love all the cute thatched roof houses.
I don’t live in such an old one but have a view of the big church that was first built in the 1300’s .
