This week I moved back to London for my last year at university. Each year I’ve had to move and I love making my rooms homely and cosy. I haven’t yet finished decorating my hole room yet but here are a few of my favorite things about my new room so far.
I was gifted this glass jar for my birthday in august, at first I was unsure what to do with it. I wondered about filling it with memories of the year but felt I would just forget filling it after a few weeks. I decided to add some fairy lights into the jar, they only cost me £2.99 and they make the jar look so pretty. They also light up my room really well as the ceiling lights are not that bright. I placed it on top of my draws next to my shelves holding all kinda of random things, I think it looks so pretty and eye catching. I was lucky enough to be gifted this jar but there are many similar ones available in lots of different shops for quite cheap prices.
If you have have read or seem some of my previous blog posts you will know that I love taking photos. I’ve stuck a hole row of photos around the edge of my room but as you can see I still have half a wall to cover but they have been ordered and are on there way. I order my prints from Snapfish.co.uk , they are really cheap company and the delivery is pretty quick too. I also have some pillows that I’ve added to my bed for extra cosyness, these pillows were from Matalan last year and cost me around £6 each. It seems this year that I have gone a bit light crazy! I purchased this Light Box from New Look for £9.99 minus student discount (one of the better perks of student life). The box comes with lots of letters as well as stars and hearts so you can create many different message combinations. This also looks so eye catching as when its switched on its one of the first things you see as you walk through the door. I am planning on changing the words up every now and then depending on visitors and seasons such as Christmas.
So here are just a few of the items that I have to make my uni room more home like. They are all quite cost worthy and frame my room. I hope this gives you a few ideas on how to decorate your own rooms.
Thanks for reading.
